It’s an honour to lead a group of people that hold the preservation of art and culture close to their heart, and as part of our identity as a school in Cambodia. It is our responsibility as educators—to preserve the traditions of this country and to support our young generation to remodel and recreate their idea of what art and culture should look like.

Culture is not just something written in books or displayed in museums. It lives in language, in music, dances, beliefs, customs, and values that are passed from one generation to the next. Culture is the soul and spirit of a nation.

Cambodia is a country with a rich and ancient heritage. The ancestors of this country preserved its heritage through centuries of challenge, hardship, and change. And now, it’s our turn to protect it.

Education is not only about mathematics, science, or technology. It is also about identity, values, and respect. As educators, we are not just teaching lessons; we are shaping future citizens. We have a duty to ensure that our students grow up proud of who they are.

This is why we have put more focus into our Khmer Cultural Programme this academic year, and why we have launched a Khmer Culture Club for our students. Preserving Cambodian art and culture does not mean living only in the past. It means carrying the wisdom of the past into the future.
