International Primary Curriculum (IPC)

The International Primary Curriculum (IPC) is a comprehensive, thematic, creative curriculum for 5-11 year olds, with a clear process of learning and with specific learning goals for every subject, for international mindedness and for personal learning. The IPC is now the curriculum choice of international and national schools in over 1,800 schools in over 90 countries around the world.

The IPC has over 90 different thematic units of learning; all relevant, engaging and appealing to primary school children of all ages. Each IPC unit incorporates a range of subjects including Science, History, Geography, Technology and ICT and provides many opportunities to link in with language arts and mathematics. Each subject then has a number of learning tasks to allow children to achieve a range of IPC learning goals. The interdependence of the subjects in each unit fosters children’s understanding that whilst history, geography and science are separate subjects; they also connect in a number of important ways. Within each thematic unit, the IPC suggests many ideas for collaborative learning, for active learning, and for learning outside the classroom.
