Summary
The Technology Director provides visionary, strategic, and operational leadership for all aspects of educational and administrative technology within the school. This role ensures that digital learning, IT infrastructure, data systems, and cybersecurity meet international standards and effectively support teaching, learning, and school operations. The Technology Director collaborates with leadership, faculty, staff, students, and external partners to foster an innovative, secure, and future-ready technology environment.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Strategic Leadership, Planning, Training and Support
  • Work with the Executive Committee to develop and implement a short, medium and long-term technology strategy aligned with the school’s mission and curriculum requirements. Build digital innovation plans to ensure the school’s future readiness.
  • Lead digital transformation initiatives and promote responsible, effective integration of technology in the classroom and beyond.
  • Advise the Executive Committee on emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in international education.
  • Provide training and support for teachers in instructional technology, students in digital literacy and administrative staff in software and system usage.
  • Ensure high-quality customer service for technology-related requests and issues.
  • Conduct regular needs assessments to keep the school at international standards.
  1. Educational Technology Integration and Project Management
  • Working with academic leadership  and teachers to integrate technology that enhances teaching, learning, and assessment.
  • Provide guidance on digital citizenship, online safety, and responsible technology use.
  • Oversee selection and implementation of learning platforms, educational apps, and classroom technologies.
  • Coordinate professional development for faculty in instructional technology.
  • Lead school-wide technology projects such as LMS upgrades, smart classroom deployment, etc.
  • Work across departments and coordinate with leadership, operations staff and vendors to ensure smooth implementation.
  • Work with the Head of School and the Principals to help oversee the Digital Literacy Programme for students across programmes from Early Years to Secondary Years, including learning in AI tools, coding integration, multimedia, robotics, and more.
  1. IT Infrastructure & Systems Management
  • Oversee the design, maintenance, and security of the school’s School Management and Learning Management Systems, in conjunction with the IT Manager.
  • Together with the IT Department, ensure reliable access to technology resources across the school.
  • Develop and maintain technology-related policies, including acceptable use, data governance, and software procurement, with the IT Manager and Executive Committee.
  1. Data Security, Privacy & Compliance

With the IT Manager:

  • Ensure compliance with global and local data protection laws.
  • Implement cybersecurity protocols and disaster recovery plans.
  • Conduct regular audits of digital systems and processes to mitigate security risks.

 

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Educational Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of IT leadership experience, preferably in an educational or international context.
  • Strong knowledge of networking, systems administration, data security, and cloud environments.
  • Demonstrated experience with instructional technology integration and faculty training.
  • Excellent communication, project management, and leadership skills.

Preferred

  • Master’s degree in Educational Technology, IT Management, or School Leadership.
  • Experience with international curricula (IB, AP, Cambridge) and multilingual environments.
  • Familiarity with global data privacy regulations.
  • Experience working in culturally diverse communities.
